Synopsis
Join ISBJØRN in Tromsø, Norway — also known as "the Paris of the North" — where we will embark on a scenic cruise south to the Lofoten Islands Archipelago. This will not be an offshore passage, but rather a coastal cruise where we'll likely stop every night, either at a dock or anchorage. There are plenty of beautiful places to see, cool things to do, and many different routes we can take depending on the weather and our inclinations. The area is full of whales, seabirds, cliffs, snow-peaked mountains, and pretty white beaches. But there will also be challenges! Hundreds of skerries, strong currents, katabatic winds, and narrow fjords will test our seamanship and keep us on our toes.
The trip ends in Svolvær, Lofoten — the perfect place to start a terrestrial adventure in the area, should you desire to stay longer.

The Route
Expected Weather Pattern
Very hard to predict what we will get. Could be anything and everything, and we might need every sail in our inventory. But it will be cold, so bring heavy thermals and ski goggles. As we say, there is no bad weather, only bad clothing. And pack your swimsuit as well to partake in an Arctic plunge!
Tentative Itinerary
Apr 9: Join ISBJØRN in Tromsø, Norway at 13:00. Dinner with the group ashore or onboard.
Apr 10: All-day safety briefing & boat orientation. Weather analysis & chart study.
Apr 11: Departure! (Weather dependent)
Apr 17: Disembark ISBJØRN in Svolvær, Norway by 12:00 Noon
Travel Logistics
Fly into Oslo Airport (OSL) and connect to a flight to Tromsø (TOS) in the north.
Fly directly out of Svolvær in Lofoten. There is a small airport called Svolvær Helle (SVJ) which connects to Oslo (OSL) for international flights.
How to Join
To register, complete the Offshore Passage Registration by clicking the 'Sign Up' button above, or at the bottom of the page. You'll be asked to complete the form - make sure you hit submit. Indicate '2024: Tromsø – Lofoten' as your preferred passage.
Once we receive your registration, you'll be sent an invoice for 50% of the balance, due immediately. The final 50% of the balance will be due 60 days prior to the passage date. Terms and conditions are in the registration form, and you'll be asked to agree to them before submitting your deposit. Please read them carefully.
